Let's Prevent Disease!

" Why I Practice Preventive Medicine"

"It is one thing to be focused on researching for a cure to help all those living with cancer, but it another to do something to prevent the disease in the first place."

Preventive medicine is a medical discipline that focuses on preventing diseases and promoting a general state of health and well being.
.

"I tell patient's everyday that I am a big believer in preventive medicine and I do my part by screening to find disease in it's earliest and most treatable stages. I also try to do even more by educating patients about the effects of environmental exposures and the carcinogenic effects of everything we eat, drink, touch, inhale, rub into our face and skin, bath in and breathe. This effort is to hopefully increase awareness and decrease the "risk of developing disease in the first place". "

My medical training alone brought these risks to my attention, but it wasn't until my own Mom was diagnosed with her fourth type of cancer that I was jolted into the reality of how we live can effect how long we live.

I began a journey to seriously educate myself and take what I have learned and apply it to my patients, myself and my family.

Start living a cleaner, healthier life by removing the chemicals from your home and your life.

Non-Toxic Products.

My mission as a doctor and mother has been to find safe, quality beauty products, cleaning products and foods to use for myself, my family and my patients. It has not been easy.
Because of greenwashing and false marketing I was led to believe that several of the products I had chosen over others are not any healthier than the ones that did not say "natural" on the front. The key has been to read the ingredients on the back of every bottle no matter what it claims on the front.

"Know your ingredients". Be aware of what it is you are absorbing, eating and breathing. An average women uses over 100 chemicals before she even leaves the house in the morning.

What I eat.

I also try to buy true "organic" foods if possible. Non-GMO is great but anything with the USDA/Organic (green and white circle) is verified to be truly organic is also Non-GMO.

What is "organic" : foods grown without pesticides.

"None of us can do everything, but we all can do something."
